EM Collar Care: Best Practices for Longevity and Efficiency

Cleaning the collar:

1. Wash with warm water only:
   Avoid using soaps or chemical products, as they can impair the effectiveness of Effective Microorganisms® (EM).
2. Rinse your pearls every 2 weeks:
   Rotate and rinse your ceramic beads every two weeks to keep them clean and ensure optimal performance.
3. Swimming is allowed:
   The collar can be worn while your pet swims, as long as the water does not contain chemicals such as chlorine or bromine.
4. Drying:
   Hang the leash in a warm, sunny location to dry. Sunlight is also good for EM, and paracord is mildew-resistant and dries quickly.
5. Avoid contact with chemicals:
   Do not allow oils, soaps or chemicals to come into contact with the collar as this can reduce the effectiveness of the EM and cause the ceramic beads to crack.
6. Emergency cleaning:
   For dirt or strong odors, soak the collar in warm water with 1 teaspoon of baking soda. For example, after rolling in something unpleasant. The pH of the baking soda is safe for EMs, but use only in emergency situations.
