From Fire Hazard to Fertile Soil

November 8 @ 10:30 – 13:00
Free

Transform local biomass into a valuable resource for soil regeneration and for creating landscapes that are more resilient to fires.

Join us for a hands-on workshop where we'll explore how to transform locally available biomass—including vegetation that can contribute to fire risk—into valuable microbial inoculants, using Effective Microorganisms (EM).

What you will learn

  • How to produce microbial inoculants from local biomass on your own land, using effective microorganisms.
  • How to process and ferment vegetation and other organic materials to help manage accumulated biomass.
  • How to create " sweet spots " that support soil regeneration, moisture retention, and vegetation recovery.
  • How to use your own inoculants in the vegetable garden, near fruit trees, and during the planting of new trees.
  • How to combine EM with practical regenerative techniques, adapted to the Portuguese climate and landscape.

From Biomass to Regeneration

Instead of considering cut biomass as waste and a fire hazard, learn how to transform it into a valuable resource for rebuilding living soils, supporting biodiversity, and creating healthier and more resilient landscapes..

In the end, you will have knowledge and practical techniques that you can apply to your own garden, farmland or property.

Limited to 10 participants.
