Organko Essential Bokashi Composter

Description

The Bokashi Organko Essential compost bin set (with stand) with a capacity of 15.3 liters each is used for home composting of organic waste or for convenient storage of the organic waste fraction before disposal in the external waste bin. The set includes 1 x 1 kg for EM Bokashi Compost Starter. The bins are made of recycled plastics. They are airtight, ensuring anaerobic fermentation of the organic waste.

The Bokashi composting process means that organic waste does not rot, but undergoes a fermentation process. Eliminating decomposition prevents the emission of unpleasant odors. Fermentation also reduces the volume of waste by up to 25%. This makes the container ideal for apartments without a garden, allowing the separation and storage of the organic fraction. The by-product of the composting process is Bokashi liquid, which can be used, after dilution, as a natural fertilizer for watering plants, or in its concentrated form for cleaning and unclogging pipes.

In the containers we can put: organic kitchen waste or small garden waste, such as food scraps, fruit and vegetable peels, coffee and tea grounds, eggshells, flowers, leaves of indoor plants, etc., but also tissues and paper napkins.

Absolutely must not be placed : liquids (milk and dairy products, vinegar, juices), bones, ash, cigarette butts, paper.

How to prepare for composting :

1. At the bottom of the container, spread a small amount of EM Bokashi Compost Starter (about 20 ml).
2. Add layers of shredded waste, pressing them down each time with the press included in the bucket to remove as much air as possible between the waste, using the special accessory included in the bucket.
3. Water each layer with a regular amount of EM Bokashi Compost Starter.
4. With each addition, remember to close the container lid tightly to ensure anaerobic conditions inside.
5. Every 3 to 5 days, collect the liquid that drains from the compost and use it diluted as a natural fertilizer for indoor and garden plants, and in its concentrated form as a natural product for cleaning and unclogging pipes.
6. Leave the filled bucket for at least 2 weeks in a warm place to support the composting process.
7. After 2 weeks, bury the fermented organic waste in the soil, place it in a compost bin, or dispose of it in the brown organic waste container.
