EM®-X Pink Ceramic Tubes
They have a porous structure and have a high capacity for adsorb and remove harmful substances from water, such as chemicals, including chlorine.
Description
Ceramic pipes fired at low temperature 800 – 900º C. They have a porous structure and have a high capacity to adsorb and remove harmful substances from water, such as chemicals, including chlorine.
Applications: water jugs, kettles for boiling water, water storage tanks, sprayers, decorative aquariums, water treatment in gardening and livestock farming.
80g packaging is enough to treat water in an 80 liter container. The tubes should be replaced after 6 months.
Properties of ceramics
The materials used in traditional ceramics are minerals such as clay, siliceous stone and feldspar. Ceramics are inorganic and do not contain metals. They are molded and then hardened by firing at high temperatures. Ceramics do not react chemically, do not burn and are harder than steel.
Tubes fired at low temperatures (pink) 800–900°C become extremely porous, similar to unglazed porcelain or pumice. They are lightweight, have hygroscopic properties and, due to the lower firing temperature, can crack.
Tubes fired at high temperatures (grayish) 1200 – 1300º C become a viscous liquid during firing and, after cooling to room temperature, bind strongly and become extremely hard. Ceramics fired by this method are less porous, denser and less brittle.
Cleaning and storage:
It is possible that the tubes may release small amounts of ceramic particles into the water when used for the first time. To minimize this, we recommend boiling the tubes twice before use.
